Robert Hope made the most of the absence of last week's winner Ian Holmes to take the second Bunny Run race over Harden Moor on Tuesday night.

With Holmes due to run in the Spelga Skyline British Championships over the Mourne mountains in Northern Ireland this weekend, the way was clear for Pudsey and Bramley runner Hope, who finished in 17min 10sec, 11 seconds clear of Grassington's Steven Hawkins with Hill Stage winner Mark Buckingham (Holmfirth) third.

Pauline Munro, from Bingley Harriers, reversed positions with clubmate Helen Johnson, from Cononley, in the women's race in 21-14, a 34-seconds winning margin.

With Kirsten Bailey third and Helen Jackson fourth, Bingley easily won the team prize with the first four women home.

There was another impressive turnout of 237 for the three-mile race on a cool evening, with women making up more than a quarter of the field. The lure of chocolate prizes is proving too great!

The third race is staged from the Guide Inn next Tuesday (7.30pm start).
