Residents in Ambler Thorn, Queensbury, have joined forces to win a community centre for their village. About 20 residents attended a meeting at Ambler Thorn Infants' School to form the Ambler Thorn and District Community Association. Mrs Ann Leak, of Moorclose Lane, Ambler Thorn, who called the meeting and who was elected chairman, said their main aim was to raise money to buy or build a community centre.

Bradford Town Planning sub-committee today decided to accept the offer of a firm to supply, without charge, an illuminated map, with press buttons, which would light up places of interest in the city. Councillor J. Backhouse, chairman, said the committee was undecided on the best location for the map, and would be glad to consider suggestions.
