Soccer enthusiasts may be counting down to England's World Cup opener on June 2.
But in Keighley, another important football fixture is looming.
At Marley stadium on Thursday, the Three Horses pub side will take on landlord Jimmy Duffy and customers to raise cash for the Sarah McKie Memorial Fund.
By taking bets on when the first goal will be scored in the 30-minute-a-side match - which kicks off at 7pm - the Fell Lane pub hopes to add to the £2,027 already raised by the soccer team in a recent sponsored head shave and leg waxing.
All the cash raised by the Three Horses will go towards improving care for cancer patients at Airedale Hospital, giving a boost to the substantial proceeds from a range of activities organised in the past nine months by Yorkshire Co-operatives.
Steven Silver, chairman of the Sarah McKie Memorial Fund, said: "A number of the lads in the pub side went to school with Sarah and wanted to do something to honour her memory. They've worked very hard and had great fun at the same time. The match looks set to be a winner, regardless of who scores the goals."
A prize raffle on the night is expected to boost the memorial fund further.
