Staff and pupils are hoping that fundraising goes large next Saturday as they team up with McDonald's.

On June 1 the Keighley McDonald's Drive-Thru Challenge will see teachers from St Andrew's School swapping the blackboard for happy meals.

The teachers will be helping to serve the customers, and for every car served in the 'drive-thru' between 12 noon and 2pm McDonald's has pledged a £1 donation to the school.

Various McDonald's restaurants are participating throughout Yorkshire for local schools, and each hopes to raise at least £200.

The restaurant that raises the most cash will round up its donation to £500.

Denise Heap, learning mentor at St Andrews, said: "The money will be used to fund some school transport.

"Some of the teachers are coming down to take part and the school choir is also set to come down and sing, so we're hoping it will be well supported.

"Anything that raises money for the school has to be a good thing and we're all looking forward to it."

Restaurant manager Paul Clarke said: "They're really looking forward to it, and there's a strong competitive element between the stores."
