Star Wars: Attack of the Clones

After the disappointment of The Phantom Menace, Star Wars fans will be heartened by the second film in the Star Wars trilogy, Attack of the Clones - for this is a great film.

At two and a half hours it is shorter than the blockbusters of last Christmas, yet for excitement and spectacle it holds its own with Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter.

The two movies sit snugly together, Attack of the Clones explaining some of the apparently pointless parts of the Phantom Menace's thick plot.

The new movie begins a decade after the first when Anakin Skywalker is now a self assured even arrogant teenager.

He is learning the ways of the Force under the guidance of Jedi master Ewan McGregor.

But dark forces are gathering and Skywalker has a part to play as two evil empires prepare to wrestle for control of the galaxy.
