A local choir will be soon be swapping brass bands for the oompah variety.
Silsden's Cobbydale Singers will perform their first concerts in foreign climes next month when they travel to Germany.
The female choir will be guests of the Blumenheck choir at Pforzheim, on the edge of the Black Forest in Germany.
They will be given a formal send-off by Silsden town Mayor Councillor Lawrence Walton, bearing a goodwill message to be presented to Pforzheim's Burgermeister at a civic reception at the Rathaus (town hall) on the Cobbydale Singers' behalf.
Besides performing a major concert with the host choir, they will also sing at a church service and at other social events.
Some of their repertoire will be sung in German.
It's the "Fest" season in Germany and the Cobbydale Singers have been asked to perform at a village Fest in the Black Forest.
