New keeper Steve Banks will begin his three-month stint with City on the bench against Rotherham.

Banks has signed on loan from Bolton as cover for injured Gary Walsh, who faces further tests on his knee next week.

But Nicky Law will keep faith with Aidan Davison in goal for tomorrow's Yorkshire derby at Valley Parade.

Law said: "Aidan played very well for us at Ipswich and it would be unfair to change things after that. But I'm pleased to get Steve in because we obviously needed cover in that position and he's got plenty of experience.

"It's not often a goalie does get injured but as soon as you presume that and don't cater for it, then something is always likely to happen."

The 30-year-old has made 253 league appearances with Bolton, Blackpool and Gillingham as well as 15 games on loan with Rochdale last season.

Law's plans for tomorrow's game have taken another boost with Robert Molenaar declared fit to play after missing Monday's win with a back problem. That allowed the City boss to shelve plans to borrow another centre-half.

Rotherham's visit has been spiced up by several verbal digs from Ronnie Moore during the summer.

The Millers manager, recently linked with Andy Myers and David Wetherall, criticised City's position when they went into administration.

It has clearly angered the club and Law said: "If he feels within his duty as manager of Rotherham United he wants to try and put other clubs down and make stupid comments, then that's up to him.

"All that does is rile people and makes them angry and puts him in an awkward position.

"I think it's completely needless. What goes on at other clubs is no concern of mine and certainly I don't feel I've got any place to comment on that. But clearly some people choose to do that."

City aim to build on the Ipswich result by claiming their first home win of the season. Valley Parade has yet to see a goal so far - and the Bantams have not scored in the last four games there since March 29.

Law said: "Ronnie Moore has got a good thing going there and Rotherham are not third by luck. They've beaten some good teams and done it convincingly."
