A schoolgirl from Steeton is hoping to turn her enthusiasm into pounds for charity.

Ten-year-old Charlotte Forshaw, pictured, of Chapel Road, decided under her own steam that she wanted to raise money for the NSPCC.

Her mother Lynne explained: "She just turned round to me one day and said that she'd really like to raise some money for the charity and came up with the idea of a fundraising day."

It starts at 1.30pm on Saturday, September 28, and is being held in St Stephen's church hall.

Charlotte, who attends Steeton Primary School, said: "I saw an advert on TV for the NSPCC and just wanted to help. I decided to have a fundraising day and my family has helped me to get it sorted.

"I want to say thanks to all the people who've donated things for the day."

The fund raising day will include a table top sale, tombola, raffle, face painting as well as tea and coffee.
