A boys' school and a girls' school are accidentally brought together in the latest comedy from Harden Players.

The Happiest Days of Your Life is described as a farce in the classic style of an Ealing comedy.

John Dighton's play is set in the late 1940s when England was still suffering from the aftermath of the Second World War.

The mood is sombre, food is still rationed and there are shortages of petrol, clothes and furniture.

The men from the Ministry of Education have a clever idea of getting two schools to share one building.

But someone fills out a form in the wrong colour, and boys and girls are mistakenly brought together in one boarding school.

The action of the play takes place in the masters' common room at Hilary Hall School in Hampshire, just after the summer term starts.

The director is Mike Foster and producer is Helen Keighley, who lead a cast of 14.

The Happiest Days of Your Life is staged at Harden Congregational Church Hall, on September 27-28 and October 4-5 at 7.30pm.
