Keighley Town 28 Silsden Park Rangers 32 - An extra-time decider from Silsden stalwart Matt Horne finally decided the outcome of a brilliant local derb - and sent Silsden into the second round of the Halifax Cup.

Rangers hadn't been in front until Andy Bowness added the conversion and his late penalty just added icing to the cake.

It was a game which Town could and should have won. They were brilliantly led by the McNulty brothers, Darren and Rocky, whose individual flair looked like being enough to lift the points.

Silsden's superior team work and patience paid off in the end after Town raced to a 10-0 lead with tries from Rocky McNulty and Tony Metcalfe, Chris Scaife adding the first conversion.

Bowness landed the first conversion.

Bowness landed a Silsden penalty before a try from Scaife made it 16-2.

Danny Horne got the Rangers back in the game just before the break when he collected a chip-kick put through by player-coach Jon Gwilliam. Bowness converted to make it 16-8 at half time.

Silsden soon grabbed a second, Ian Anderson going in at the corner, but Town hit back with a second McNulty try and two Scaife goals. At 24-12 it looked like being enough but Silsden got a huge lift when Neil Jordan finished off a fine five man move. With just a minute left Anderson levelle3d things, but Bowness couldn't land the touchline conversion.

Extra time brought a superb solo try for man of the match Quentin Sneed and again town were favourites, but deep in the second period of extra time Gwilliam sent Horne over and Bowness made sure of progress in the cup.
