Keighley United completed an incredible cricket season by clinching the Bradford Mutual Sunday School League as champions after being refused a place in the contest earlier in the year.

After winning the Division C title last year, the Keighley team were omitted from the league after failing to attend the annual meeting. But in March they were reprieved when Bradford Post Office pulled out of Division A at the last minute.

They tackled the tough challenge of playing in the top flight with tremendous character and won 13 of their 21 games - and lost just four times.

A brilliant finish to the season saw them overhaul an 18-points deficit on leaders Bradford Gymkhana, snatching the title on the last day with a six-wicket defeat of Mayfield while Gymkhana suffered their fourth defeat in a row against Priory.

The victory made them the first Keighley team to win Division A of the competition.
