HARDEN clinched promotion to Division B of the Aire-Wharfe League - by the slimmest of margins.

They finished level with Horsforth on 93 points, but took the second promotion spot thanks to a better runs-per-wicket average, which was just 0.38 better than the Leeds side.

Next season they will face local derby matches against Silsden, who promised much, but saw their chance of promotion to the top flight slip away.

They ended the season with a seven-wicket defeat by Kirkstall Education. No one reached double figures as they were dismissed for 53 and the Leeds team reached victory in 15 overs.

Steeton ended the season with a mid-table finish in the top flight after suffering a losing draw at the hands of Follifoot despite a final flourish from Australian Grant Lindsay. He signed off by taking four wickets for 66 runs and scored 46 with the bat.

Follifoot set a target of 224-7 and Steeton reached 182-6 in reply with Alex Howarth scoring 46.

Steeton 2nds earned promotion to Division A and Silsden 2nds finished with a final flourish. They inflicted only the second defeat of the season on champions Kirkstall. Bowling first Silsden were once again indebted to Paul Bainbridge who 5-43 reduced Kirkstall to 146-8. After losing two early wickets Ian Pullen (34) and Ian Sagar (40no) secured a three-wicket win.
