Bradford Salem hand a debut to South African Jonathan Jacobs in their home derby against Bramley Phoenix in Yorkshire Division Three tomorrow.

The 20-year-old winger from the Gauteng province is Salem's first overseas player since New Zealander Robbie Flynn three seasons ago.

Jacobs' arrival means that Andy Dalton reverts to full back with Chris Luxton switching to the other wing at the expense of Dave Atter, who drops to the bench.

Ben Scarbrough makes his first start in the pack since the end of the 2000-01 season. He replaces broken nose victim Steve Cowman, John Bradbury coming on to the bench.

Otley have also made a notable signing - former England under-21 international Ian Clarke.

The former Leeds Tykes No 8 could well fill the remaining place on the bench for the National League One home match against Manchester.

Phil Greaves is at full back in the absence of Ian Shuttleworth (knee injury), and half backs Simon Binns and Andy Brown both return. However, prop Ronnie Kelly and second row Paul Williams are still absent with broken fingers.

It's a case of Oh Brother! for Cleckheaton's North Division One home match against Macclesfield. Richard Wilson drops to the bench to be replaced in the second row by his brother Andy. Gary Mercer (centre) and Carl Mason (prop) also return for Jonathan Ward and Neil Gillan.

It seems to help to have the initials PS if you want to play in Keighley's pack. Half of their forwards - prop Paul Sinfield, locks Peter Southgate and Paul Salmon and No 8 Peter Schofield - fulfil that requirement for the home match against Heath in Yorkshire Division Two.

Martin Harrison is relegated to the bench because of a leg injury, John Hinchliffe replacing him, allowing Warren Knowles to return on the wing. Scott Amos is back at at scrum half, and Salmon's inclusion in the second row is because Andy Bennett is out with a rib injury. Lee Gordon replaces Mark Lister in the back row.

The Bees will have to make a late decision on their side at Morpeth in North Two East, but hope to have Tongan Joe Nau back at scrum half.

The wingers will be perm any two from Jon-Paul Rimington, Asa Firth and Mark Coultas, and it is hoped Ben Greaves has recovered sufficiently from a knock against Old Bridleians on Saturday to switch to full back.

The forecast promises Wharfedale's team and fans a bumpy flight on their journey to second-placed Penzance and Newlyn in National League Two.

It must be hoped that the Dalesmen will have recovered their 'land legs' by 2.30pm as they are certain to face a stiff test at the hands of the newly-promoted Cornish side. The Pirates have lost just one of their six league matches, going down only to a last-minute try at Harrogate a fortnight ago.
