The children of Long Lee Primary School were treated to a display of Indian dancing.
The event was staged to mark the launch of the Heartstone project in the area and Sitakumari, director of Heartstone, presented a storytelling performance with dance to the audience, which included Keighley MP Ann Cryer and Town Mayor Cllr Martin Leathley.
Heartstone, a UK-based non-profit making voluntary organisation, uses fiction and social and environmental documentary to challenge racism, xenophobia and intolerance.
It began in 1990 inspired by a following on from the children's book "The Heartstone Odyssey", one of the most successful to address the subject of racial harassment.
The new project, which will be operating with school groups, nurseries and families in the area will use Heartstone stories, specifically "The Heartstone Odyssey", which is the story of dancer, Chandra, and some rather special mice.
Mayor Cllr Leathley is pictured, right, joining Heartstone director Sitakumari and youngsters Daniel Aspinall and Haneesa Aaul.
