Keighley Corporation Tramways' trackless Cedes car no 2 evokes interest from the lads on the wall-top as it travels through Lees - it was also deemed noteworthy enough for this postcard entitled "Lees, Haworth, and Trackless Tram".
The Keighley-Cross Roads trackless route had been officially inspected in April of 1913, although it was 1914 before Cedes cars nos 1 and 2 arrived on the scene.
The route was extended to Oxenhope in 1916.
This photograph illustrates, on the left, the arrangement of overhead wires entailed by a trackless system.
The prominent building on the right was Lees Wesleyan Methodist Chapel. The youth wearing the white jacket was probably a textile worker.
