Lee Morton ended his bike racing season on a high.

Riding his Superstock Suzuki GSXR1000 Lee finished in an impressive sixth in the final race of the MRO Powerbike series.

He coped well with slippery conditions against the much superior Powerbikes. Racing a Superstock machine Lee was up against highly tuned Superbikes on a machine that was virtually identical to the kind you'd get out of a showroom with an improved exhaust and suspension.

After the race Lee said: "I needed to end this season on a good note, we've been up against it all year, riding against the Superbike teams with their huge budgets.

"With that result behind me it means I can focus on next year and getting back to the British Superstock series where we're on a more even playing field."

Having raced at British level before against the likes of Shane Byrne, Steve Plater and World Superbike rider James Toseland, Lee hopes that next season will bring a bit of good fortune.

"To ride a motorbike fast I need time on the track and the British series weill let me have that.

"I can't wait to get back to the British level, it gives me the opportunity to show what I can do and give my sponsors the rewards they deserve, I owe them a huge thanks for this year.

"I know next year's going to need a bigger budget, but hopefully we we will be able to show what we can do."

Lee would like to say a big thank you to his sponsors Colin Appleyards, OPM Labels, West Yorkshire Glazing and Shell Oils.
