Keighley's Green Goddesses have been called into action several times this week.

Two of the old army vehicles, plus a breathing apparatus rescue team (BART), are providing cover in the town during the firefighters' strike.

One appliance and the BART were called to H Brook DIY shop -- just yards from the temporary fire station in Lawkholme Lane, Keighley -- at 1.10pm on Wednesday after receiving a report of a trapped person.

An ambulance crew was also sent to the incident, in which a shelf had collapsed.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Ambulance Service said two people were taken to Airedale Hospital, but neither was believed to be seriously hurt. No-one at the shop was available to comment.

The other Green Goddess call outs have been mainly to bin fires.
