Dougie Lampkin returned to the Spanish indoor series at the weekend, and won the latest round held at Castellon.
He is currently based near Barcelona for his initial winter training and testing programme and made a late decision to compete in the event. The competition was good practice for the forthcoming World Indoor Championship that starts in Andorra in early December.
Dougie revelled in the warm and dry conditions, and showed that he has already put his time in Spain to good use as he dominated both the qualifying heat and final round.
Riding as an invited guest against the six home riders, Lampkin's first lap score was only matched by Raga, the leading duo completing the eleven sections for the loss of eleven marks.
Dougie said: "We've been working on the suspension since I came out to Spain, and that certainly seemed to help. I obviously haven't been riding that many indoor events recently, but I felt very comfortable during the heat, which was a big boost for my confidence.
"I like winning, and it feels great to win an indoor event against my main rivals, especially when it is so close to the start of the new indoor world championship."
