People could be forgiven for thinking they were seeing double if they bumped into Kelly Metcalfe in the street - but just don't ask her to sing.

The 25-year-old registrar from Hightown in Liversedge has just been voted best popstars lookalike by the public on ITV2 programme Pop-stars: The Rivals - Extra.

Kelly's mum Theresa McCullough had always thought her daughter was the spitting image of Irish singer Nadine Coyle from chart-busting girl band Girls Aloud -which includes Bradford's latest pop sensation Kimberley Walsh - and sent a photo of Kelly into the programme.

"A lot of people at work have been saying I am the spitting image of Nadine Coyle and that I should enter the competition," said Kelly, who has worked at Dewsbury Register Office for almost five years.

"But it was my mum who asked if she could send in a holiday photo of me.

"It was totally unexpected when they rang less then a week later to say I was down to the last five. I had a contract faxed through asking for my permission to use the photo.

"But I definitely can't sing like her!"

The competition was launched on the internet to allow the public to vote.

During Sunday's show, the public vote took place, and with a majority of 29 per cent of the total votes Kelly was crowned best lookalike for Nadine and won a state-of-the-art mobile phone.

Kelly said: "It was just a bit of fun but I lost count of the amount of people coming in to work and saying 'do you know who you look like?"

She discovered her similarity to Nadine when she was shown on television auditioning for the show.

"I remember seeing her when it first came on and shouting to my husband Stephen to come and look," said Kelly, "I asked him if he thought she looked like me and he agreed. "People have been asking if we could be related because my dad Maurice is Irish."
