Brian Noble today revealed his players are "jingling and jangling with excitement" just two days ahead of the Super League opener at St Helens.

The Bulls, seeking revenge for last year's Grand Final defeat,

have had to train in the afternoons this week due to frozen pitches but the new schedule

is not affecting preparations.

"Training has been going well," said Noble, who himself admits to being desperately excited about Friday's trip to Knowsley Road.

"The players are going through everything you expect at this time of the season.

"They are nervous, they are jingling and jangling with excitement they just want to get out there and do their stuff.

"The reality is this is a massive game for us, not for revenge, not to get one back, but just to get two points."

The Bulls have never lost a Super League opener but they will face their stiffest test yet as they travel to take on a St Helens side who will be desperate to recover from their hammering at the hands of Australian champions the Sydney Roosters in the World Club Challenge last week.

"Like any season we want to get rolling as soon as possible," added Noble.

"And that means picking up two points on Friday. If you under prepare against any team in this league they will punish you and that applies against St Helens as well.

"I didn't think they played as badly last week as everyone makes out. There were some positive signs there and it will be a tough game.

"But it is these games that everyone wants to watch, any boxing promoter would be delighted with a heavyweight clash like this. It really is top billing."
