The founder member of a branch of an army organisation has been commemorated with a donation towards cancer research.
Members of the Shipley branch of the Women's Royal Army Corps Association gave £50 to the Telegraph & Argus Bradford Can... Cancer Research Appeal in memory of Lois Bullen.
Mrs Bullen, who died of stomach cancer in January, founded the Shipley branch. Treasurer Joyce Dawson said Mrs Bullen worked hard to organise the branch and would be missed by everyone.
"We will remember her with pride for making our branch such a happy one," Mrs Dawson said.
She said members had chosen to support the Bradford Can... Appeal because Mrs Bullen was treated for cancer at Bradford Royal Infirmary and St Luke's Hospital. Mrs Dawson added: "Our branch decided they would like the money to go to Bradford."
The association meets on the second Monday of the month at Shipley library at 2pm.
The Bradford Can... Appeal has raised £1 million for cancer research in Bradford.
Now that target has been hit, Cancer Research UK is to give another £5 million to the cause.
