Staff at a Brewsters pub put their best foot forward in preparation for a charity trek. The team from The Dalesway at Crossflatts is taking part in a 13-mile sponsored walk for Red Nose Day, on March 14. It is the third year in succession they have staged a charity walk. Two years ago they raised £1,300 for Manor-lands, and last year a trek along the length of the Leeds-Liverpool Canal towpath coined in about £700 for children's mobility charity Going for Kids. Next month's venture is being organised in conjunction with fellow Brewsters pub Yeadon Stoops, from where the walk will start.
Participants include Stephen Phillips, kitchen manager at The Dalesway, who will don a Brewster Bear costume. Dona-tions can be pledged at the pub - where there is a bar-top collection bottle - or by phoning 01274 566817.
On their marks are from left, bar supervisor Dave Hooley, kitchen manager Stephen Phillips, general manager Dave Shepherdson and eight-year-old Becky, Brewster Bear, trainee assistant manager Fiona McIntyre, second chef Jason Sanderson and Fun Factory
supervisor Jo Davison
