Law firm Gordons Cranswick has officially merged with Bradford firm Sugden Spencer.

Sugden Spencer has moved its entire operation into Gordons Cranswick's Piccadilly office.

John Hall, senior partner at Gordons Cranswick believes the move will benefit both firms and their clients.

He said: ""We are very pleased with this deal.

"Sugden Spencer has a good reputation and we share similar values and commitment to clients.

"They have brought some excellent clients to whom we can offer a wider range of services.

"We have had some real success over the last 12 months, particularly in expanding our Leeds office and this is another positive step in the continued development of the firm."

The three Sugden Spencer partners, Tony Emmott, Bill Hudson and Alyson McGowan have become partners in Gordons Cranswick, while the firm's staff have swelled Gordons Cranswick's numbers to nearly 200.

Tony Emmott, former partner at Sugden Spencer, added: "Many of our clients have increasingly complex legal requirements. Under the new structure we can continue to provide the quality, value for money and highly personalised legal advice we are known for, at the same time having the added resource of a substantial team able to assist where necessary.''

Clients of the firm include Morrisons, Peter Black, Timothy Taylor, and JCT600.
