THERE has been disappointment in the camp this week following our first home defet of the season.

Admittedly six changes to the starting line-up probably didn't help, and ultimately I must take the blame for that decision.

Three of the changes were enforced, with three of our most experienced players unavailable. Gareth Hewitt and Ricky Helliwell were both injured and Jason Ramshaw was on a pre-booked holiday. However, we need to give all our squad some game time for obvious reasons.

They all need match practise and everyone must be given a chance to earn a first team shirt.

If we had an inury crisis we would struggle with players who hadn't had game time, they wouldn't be able to stay the pace.

The Rugby League has stated that three Open Age players can play in the Under-21s, but what if you do not have an Under-21 team?

No Open Age players are allowed in the Under-18s Academy, and rightly so, but at the moment the club does not have the money, or the resources, to run an Under-21s side. I beleive our priority had to be an Academy side because that is where we can develop our first team players of the future -- it is a really frustrating position to be in.

THIS week saw the return of popular Aussie Mick 'Dundee, Durham. This time Mick's wife Kelly will be helping to promote our new lottery 'Cougar Dice', but tread carefully with Kelly, she is a karate expert and knows how to handle herself.

Mick say's she's the boss in his house -- Kelly told him so!

By the way the coaching staff though it only right to put up a 'Kylie' calender in our office, purely to make Mick feel at home you understand.

He hasn't seen it yet, but I'm sure he'll give his approval - and I can't wait 'till we get to July and August!

Rammy came back from Tenerife on Tuesday, rumour has it that it was cheaper to fly out to the Canaries to top up his tan than pay the small fortune he spends on Paul Royston's sunbeds.

There's real competition in the dressing room for the 'man with the perfect tan' between Jason and Mick Dundee.
