DYNELEY House Surgery receptionist Christine Bullock celebrated 25 years in her post last week - but still could not claim to be the longest serving employee!

It seems once people start working at Skipton's Newmarket Street Surgery they never want to leave. Colleagues Jean Chew has done 30 years and Dr Chris Craig, 28 years.

Mrs Bullock said she never imagined being at the surgery for 25 years when she started as a part time holiday relief worker on a job share. But her few hours a week gradually grew and now she is working a few hours every day.

Not only have her hours grown but her role as 'receptionist' now also encompasses general administration work, drawing up posters and leaflets, making re-calls and making sure the surgery is claiming for the services it provides.

Throughout her 25 years Mrs Bullock has seen many changes at Dyneley House perhaps most notable was the introduction of computer systems which put pay to filing patients records by hand.

Dr Craig said Mrs Bullock had been a "reliable and loyal supporter of the surgery."
