A young Shipley couple danced their way on to television last night. Nigel Tiffany, 21, of Owlet Road, Windhill, and his fiancee Shirley Rich, 17, who lives with the Tiffanys, were chosen to represent the North-East in the BBC programme Come Dancing.

From April 1 next, the contributions to charities from the proceeds of Sunday cinemas will be reduced from six per cent to five per cent, by a decision of the Corporation Fire Services Committee yesterday. The decision follows a plea that Sunday takings had fallen and overheads were increasing.
