Brodsworth 0, Thackley 1: Darron Morris hit a late winner to ensure Thackley came away from Brodsworth with three points after the Bradford side had been denied an opener twice before in contentious circumstances.

The strike nine minutes from time was claimed amid calamitous defending and ruined the debut of 17-year-old home keeper Richard Thomas.

On a day when Morris should have been celebrating a fine hat-trick he had to be satisfied with just one that counted - coming from the easiest of the chances he was presented with.

After turning the ball in on 30 minutes, only to have a handball decision go against him, and then chip Thomas five minutes later and turn to see an offside flag, Morris got the reward for his persistence.

Thomas missed a back pass from Danny Brewster and Morris simply rolled the ball over the line from an angle.

"It was a game we always deserved to win but it was an unfortunate way to concede a goal for Brodsworth and I felt really sorry for their keeper," said Thackley spokesman Stewart Willingham.

"The two disallowed goals were harsh on us and Brodsworth or their young keeper could have had no complaints if they had counted. The first one hit Darron on the shoulder, not the arm or hand.

"Andy Patterson played Darron through for the second and there was no way he was offside. The assistant referee gave both decisions, he was one of those who wanted to be the centre of attention. He was a fussy linesman, the referee was in the area and in a better position on each occasion but allowed the linesman to make the decisions."
