Kendal Town showed more desire, condemning Guiseley to a 2-1 defeat in UniBond Division One after they had started so brightly against the Cumbrians.

"I was very disappointed with our second-half performance," admitted Guiseley boss Neil Parsley. "We came in at 1-1, and that was harsh because we could have been two or three-nil up. In the second half, we didn't get hold of the game and they deserved the points."

Andy Shuttleworth had already gone close for the home side before he drove in a sixth- minute cross that was handled by a defender. Mark Stuart stepped forward to take the spot-kick and duly scored.

Alex Nesovic, twice - once from a free header on the edge of the six-yard box - and Dave Henry were just off target with goal attempts, and Nathan Hay was denied a strong penalty appeal before Kendal equalised.

With seconds to go to half-time, Guiseley half-cleared their lines a couple of times before the ball was driven back into the danger zone and Ian Simpson scrambled it home.

Shuttleworth had a strike disallowed seven minutes into the second period, but Kendal secured their league double in the 75th minute via a Gareth Jones tap-in at the far post.
