Nicky Law reckons City striker Andy Gray is suffering an international hangover.

Gray was back in the side for Saturday's 1-0 home loss to Millwall after playing for Scotland in Lithuania.

He nearly grabbed an equaliser with a stoppage-time header which was brilliantly saved by Lions keeper Tony Warner. But Law felt Gray lacked his usual sharpness after a week away with Berti Vogts' squad.

Law said: "It was like the last time when he went away with Scotland. He came back then and was a bit disappointing as well.

"At the end of the day, Andy's been away for so long and had no playing time.

"I know players want to be on international duty but this is his bread and butter and this is where he needs to perform."

Gray denied he was jaded by the midweek trip to Kaunas, where he came on as a late substitute.

Gray said: "I don't think it took me a while to get going but it was just one of those games when it took us 60-65 minutes to start playing in their half.

"Personally it was great to get on for Scotland and nice to get a chance if only for 20 minutes. But the result was disappointing and it was the same against Millwall to lose to a sloppy goal.
