A carving from Pakistan received the Bishop of Bradford's blessing at the opening ceremony of St Augustine's CE Primary.
He joined pupils and teachers at the school's new buildings in Westminster Road, Undercliffe, Bradford. The Bishop spoke about the importance of education before dedicating the building. The Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Richard Wightman, spoke of the benefits of a multi-faith society.
Acting head teacher Jo Byndloss said: "St Augustine's is an unusual Church of England school, in that it is enriched by a good mix of pupils from a variety of ethnic backgrounds. We want to do the best for the children in this area." The Bishop and the Lord Mayor are pictured with pupils and staff at the opening ceremony.
