DRIVERS and navigators from the area proved themselves at a prestigious car rally at the weekend.
Sunday's Ilkley and District Motor Club Rally, which started in Otley and took in 150 miles through the Dales, saw more than 60 cars take part from across the country.
Fourth and fifth overall were navigators Simon Bentley from Alwoodley in a Mini, and Ian Canavan from Ilkley in a Ford Cortina. Driver Hazel Pullan and navigator Nick Pullan were ninth and won the Best Ilkley Award.
Henry Kitching, from the club, said the event had gone very well with local drivers and navigators doing very well
Sponsored by Classic Cars of Otley, the event included nine speed tests on various locations along the route and included cars from the 1950s, 60s and 70s.
The start point of Sunday's rally was the Chevin Country Park Hotel, Yorkgate, and the finish was at Otley Rugby Club.
