A FEARLESS Skipton woman is planning to hurl herself from a plane at 10,000 feet in a bid to raise money for the Anthony Nolan Trust.

Ellie Athea hopes to raise £45 to register to do the tandem parachute jump this summer and then a further £340 for the charity.

She is no stranger to flying high as she is a sergeant with the 264 Skipton Air Training Corps squadron.

During her time with the squadron, she has tried her hand at both powered flying and gliding and has gained some fundraising experience.

Ellie said that although she enjoyed adventure sports like canoeing and rock climbing she would be nervous on the day.

She has chosen to complete the challenge for the trust because she has a friend who has been fighting leukaemia for three years.

Anyone who would like to sponsor Ellie can contact her on 01756 701055.
