FIFTEEN-YEAR-OLD budding rugby union star Scott Dyson has been selected to represent Yorkshire in the Royal Sun Alliance National 10-a-side tournament this weekend.

The competition is being held at Rugby School and has attracted county teams from across the country.

Scott, a pupil at Parkside School and a member of the Keighlians Rugby Club, is getting the best possible preparation for the game.

He is spending a work experience week on the staff of Leicester Tigers rugby club, which has seen him doing everything from picking weeds from the terraces with the groundstaff and helping in the club offices, to a workout with the Tigers first team players.

"He thought he was going along to watch, but found himself being put through the training session with some of the biggest names in the game," said his father Ken.

Evan Scott's arrival at the three-day tournament could raise a few eyebrows among the opposition. He is being taken to the event by Dean Richards, former England star who is the most capped No8 in the world with 48 international caps.

"The Keighley club has built up close links with Leicester thanks to Martin Whitcombe, which has led to Scott staying with Dean and having the opportunity to work at the club," Ken Dyson said.
