FATHER and son running duo Barry and Damien Scholes brought the curtain down on a super season in the Kendal winter League.
Damien (pictured) led the championship for much of the season but just missed out on the senior title in the final races. He claimed second place in one of fell running's top competitions which attracts runners from throughout the country.
He brought the curtain down on the season finishing at the front in the relay race, bringing his team home by a short margin.
Both Damien and his father Barry are postmen in Keighley.
Barry also finished with a string of good results to take sixth place in the senior championship, but the icing on the cake was his first Vets title in five years, winning the Over-50's event against strong opposition.
He has always been close to the top, but he was delighted to have put his name on the trophy.
Keighley & Craven runners Karen and Sheryl Slater also made it a family double, winning the Ladies and Under-17 girls titles.
After poor weather at the start of the campaign the season opened up for the speed merchants with superb conditions which have attracted top runners and big fields to the competition, with every age group hotly contested from Under-12s upwards.
