The new direct air service between Yeadon Airport and Paris which started yesterday has received a warm welcome from Bradford-born Jack Peel, director of industrial relations for the EEC. He said the service would help to develop trade for the area and be of help to holiday makers.

It really was hot today - the hottest day of the year in Bradford so far, when the temperature reached 67 degrees. And this is no exception for May. Last year 78 degrees were recorded on the 17th of the month. The record for Bradford is 83 degrees on May 29, 1947.
