Four Bradford Bulls players have made the Super League under-21s representative side - but Phil Veivers wanted more.

The assistant coach admits he is "disappointed" that other players in the Senior Academy side at Odsal didn't get the nod for the two-game series.

But Veivers, who coaches the under-21s at Bradford, was quick to praise those who did get a place in the representative side.

Chris Bridge, Aaron Smith, Stuart Reardon and Richard Moore were all selected for the matches against the National League under-21s, with the first clash taking place on June 10.

"It is a great honour for these guys to be selected for this side.

"It is good for their CVs," said Veivers, whose young side have notched up 100 points on two occasions this season and 96 in a third.

"But I am disappointed that there weren't more of our lads in the side.

"What about your Jamie Langleys or Vinnie Mylers?

"And then there are the younger lads like Karl Pryce and Nicky Saxton, what about them?"

Despite a recent defeat against Leeds, the Bulls of the future have been performing well this year with a number of the youngsters making the step up to Super League.

Stuart Reardon and Jamie Langley have played first-team rugby this year, and both were highly impressive. The latest to hit the big time was Aaron Smith, who played at hooker against Huddersfield and excelled.

"It is great to be selected," said Smith, whose only representative rugby was on an Australian tour with the Great Britain Schoolboys as a 16-year-old.

"It shows that people are watching you and taking notice of what you can do. I must be doing something right."

The under-21s will play a two-game series which will form part of the selection process for the various representative teams which play fixtures this Autumn, including the England A team.
