It is just fifty years since the Airedale Bowling Club - based at the time down Royd Ings Avenue - covered itself in glory by winning the Yorkshire Cup, clinching the final by 16 points against Harworth Colliery in a game played at Crosland Moor Liberal Club.
This proud 1953 group, complete with cup, was supplied by Mr A Edmondson, of Cromer Avenue, Ingrow, who kneels at the far right and names the rest of the
players as:
Back row, left to right: W Flanagan, J Slater G Whitaker, D Worboys, H Binns, T Thomas (Secretary), and R Smith.
Front row: P Newiss,
M Parkin, R Heaton, J Boland (Captain),
J Waterhouse and
W Wilson.
