Bradford and Bingley are on for a cup double in the SDS Bradford League's centenary season.

Their first team will face Woodlands in the Priestley Cup final at Wagon Lane on Sunday, August 24.

And their second team, despite being third-from-bottom, will meet sixth-placed Hanging Heaton in an all-Division One Sovereign Health Care Priestley Shield decider at East Bierley a fortnight before.

Bingley batted first in their Shield semi-final at home to promotion-chasing Yeadon - a match of seven run-outs - and scored an impressive 256 for nine.

Opener and wicketkeeper Martin Dobson led the way with a quickfire 52, adding 56 for the first wicket with Sajjad Haider (29) and 53 for the second with young Amar Rashid (43).

Imran Arif (33), Wajahat Ali (23) and Paul Markham (22 not out) then ensured that runs came towards the end of Bingley's innings.

Nick Darfield was Yeadon's most successful bowler with two for 33 and they also claimed four run outs, but otherwise their ground fielding was poor.

The visitors slumped to 36 for three, but always had a chance while Tony Gilks (62) and Paul Machell (48) were at the crease.

They added 94 for the fourth wicket, but wickets then fell at regular intervals and Bingley won by 67 runs with 6.4 overs to spare.

Ali completed a fine all-round performance with three for 40 and Ashfaq Khan helped put Yeadon on the back foot with two for 23.

The other semi-final at Farsley followed a virtually identical course in terms of scores.

Hanging Heaton rattled up 260 for six, including a stand of 154 for the fifth wicket between juniors Naveed Saeed (120) and Richard Soulsby (64).

Saeed hit 16 fours, but the Batley side were only troubled by opening bowler Christian Horner (5-36), who helped reduce them to 40 for three.

Farsley were 51 for four in reply as the Horner brothers Michael (3-33) and Richard (2-20) got to work, but then came a 51-run stand for the fifth wicket between junior Matthew Green (63) and James Petty (32).

The tail didn't wag effectively enough and Farsley were dismissed for 194 after 45.4 overs, Sayeed taking two for 38.
