Menston's first win in six weeks was enough to see them leap-frog over North Leeds and into second place in Division A of the Aire-Wharfe League.

But with Bilton claiming five points from a winning draw at North Leeds it means Menston trail the leaders by 13 points with nine games remaining.

Menston narrowly beat reigning champions Adel by six runs after defending a total of 167 for nine. Richard Taylor did most of the damage for Menston with five for 37 while Grant Bell provided useful support, taking three for 45.

Bilton's imposing 339 for four meant they dominated their clash with North Leeds who claimed a point thanks to their final pair holding out until the close.

Second-bottom Steeton's eight-wicket defeat at home to Follifoot means they are now seven points adrift of safety. That is because Green Lane earned five points from a winning draw at Guiseley to leap over Beckwithshaw and up to fourth bottom.

Steve Hargreaves hit 52 and Phil Atkinson made 69 not out as Green Lane finished on 222 for nine. Neil Britton then took six for 57 but Guiseley rallied through Chris Wain (39 no) and Andrew Paley (28 no) to be 155 for eight at the close.

Opener Sam Smith cracked 93 to help Otley beat Beckwithshaw by 95 runs while rock-bottom Collingham lost by eight wickets at home to Hall Park. Simon Wilson with 80 and Peter Kempton, who finished on 75 not out, put on 157 for the first Hall Park wicket.

Rawdon's promotion push in Division B continues to gather pace with a resounding 119-run victory at Thackley. Duncan Stow's unbeaten 76 helped Rawdon to a total of 234 for seven before Kenrick Marshall's five for 27 from 20 overs helped clinch victory.

Kirkstall are top on 55 points, two ahead of Rawdon with Burley a further six adrift in third place.

David Brook's quick-fire 51 from just 29 balls helped Burley beat Calverley by seven wickets and stretch their unbeaten run to five games.

Ilkley surprisingly lost ground on the top three as they crashed to a five-wicket defeat to bottom team Bardsey.

Richard Simpson hit 30 and then claimed three for 35 but it was not enough to prevent Bardsey clinching their first win of the season.

Bardsey are now level on 15 points with Thackley with third-bottom Harden seven points ahead of the duo.

Steve Bateman's 91 helped Harden post a useful target of 227 at Kirkstall Educational but despite Stuart Hudson then claiming four for 77 it was not enough to prevent the league leaders winning by four wickets.

Skipton stole a march on their promotion rivals to move six points clear at the top of Division C. As nearest rivals Horsforth and Colton were slipping to surprise defeats, Skipton thrashed Ben Rhydding by 122 runs thanks mainly to Kevin Owens hitting 155 and Rob Dilger 122.
