A woman with a fear for heights is taking to the skies to raise money for a Bradford hospice.

Amy Hillas, 22, is preparing to jump 13,000ft from a plane to raise funds for the Manorlands Hospice in Oxenhope.

Amy, of Denholme, is keen to help the hospice where both her grandparents are patients. She will attempt the tandem jump accompanied by an instructor on August 1 near Scunthorpe.

"I am absolutely terrified but I'll do it," she said.

Amy, who works at Livingstones nightclub on Chester Street, will be standing on the club's steps dressed in full parachute gear tomorrow night to persuade people to sponsor her.

Goods from Bradford City, Bradford Bulls and Cineworld have also been donated and will be auctioned off to help the hospice cause.

The items include a signed Bradford City shirt and ball, a signed Bradford Bulls shirt and ball, a Bradford Bulls match ticket for four people, and Cineworld posters and boards of recent films.

To place a bid or for further information call Amy on (07932) 813383.
