SECRETARY of Oakworth Juniors, richard Hewitt, has received recognition for his outstanding work for junior football.

Richard, has been secretary of the club since it was formed in 1991 and has also been a coach throughout that period, and recently received the 1st-4-Sport Level 2 coaching award.

He was one of only five people to be rewarded by the West Riding FA with the Football Workforce County Award.

The presentations took place at the West Riding FA's Woodlesford HQ after an England Under-21 training session and the winners were presented with their certificates by England coach David Platt and Notting Forest Under-21 defender Michael Dawson.

West Riding FA secretary, Roy Carter said: "Volunteers form the backbone of football in this country, we are delighted that five winners were able to receive this recognition.

n The club is running two new teams this coming season at Under-15 and Open Age level in the coming season.
