ADIE POWIS set Cullingworth on their way to a bumper total against second placed Oakworth -- but still sipped to defeat.

Powis scored 78 and was backed up by A Hodgson 60 and Chris Welch 34 as they reached 234-6. Graham Rankin was the most successful Oakworth bowler, finishing with 4-95.

The home side was 27-2 before Adam Fradley and Michael Scarborough put together a splendid 153-run stand for the third wicket. Scarborough was bowled for 98 in an innings that contained 12 fours and 6 sixes and lasted only 72 balls. Three more wickets fell before Fradley (88no), guided his side to a four-wicket win.

Long Lee moved up to fourth after seing off Haworth WE at Golden View. The visitors were indebted to Graham Ellis who made 90 of their 161 total. Matt Taylor took 4-21, Chris Taylor 3-33 and Mick Iles 3-29. The Keighley side romped to a seven-wicket win thanks mainly to Richard Ayrton 49 and Brian Portlock 43.

Cowling slipped up at home allowing Denholme to climb above the relegation zone. The home side made 177-6 with David Watson scoring 42. The visitors passed this for the loss of eight wickets.

Neil Andrews pushed his century tally to 17, as the runs flowed freely at Thornton. the Bradley batsman scored 130 as Bradley rattled up 262-6. Neil Robinson scored 54. The Booth Bridge Lane side made a creditable reply but were never really in the hunt and they closed on 193. Ian Clarkson made 44 and Adam Zampatti 39 as Robinson claimed 7-47.

Leaders Embsay batted first at Shires Lane and built on an opening partnership of 74 by Simon Bailey 38 and Duncan Bullough, aided by Paul Barwick with 39 they closed on 239. Bullough making 90 as John Metcalfe (25no) and James Tiffany (18no) put on 42 for the seventh wicket. Nick Williamson with 3-50 was the pick of Skipton CI's bowlers.

The visitors' reply saw two wickets go down for 14, before Mark Chisnall 49 and Williamson 22, stemmed the tide to get the score to 89-4. They were dismissed by Richard Phillipson who went on to finish with 5-30 as the innings closed on 131, with Stephen Speak taking 4-24 off 13.2 overs.

Barrowford move into third spot after an eight-wicket victory at Haworth. The Bronte side batted first, and were shot out for 114 with Jamie Rowell top scoring with 32 as M Naeem took 5-17 in 15 overs. Ajmal Choudry led the successful reply with 71no.

Sutton remain second in Division Two despite going down in a tense finish at home to Carleton.

Glusburn go back into third spot after a 60-run victory over Chatburn. They rattled up 209-8 with evergreen Phil Taylor scoring 93 and Phil Shackleton 43 as John Lockley claimed 6-98. The Ribble Valley side replied with 149, of which Stuart Procter made 82no and Kevin Hird took 5-25.

The Ingrow derby at Hainworth went the way of visitors Ingrow St John's. Batting first they piled up 235 with Colin Bottomley scoring 64 and A Hussain 53. Without the contribution of Adrian Stokes, 72, and Adrian Parker, 45, the home side's total of 147 would have looked sick. Chris Walker bowled well to finish with 6-57.

Airedale were in rampant mood again at Bull Holme, as they thrashed 324-5. I Zaman crashed 142 and Matt Cox 50. The Red Rose side were then knocked over for a paltry 38 - defeat by a mere 286 runs!

The top four in Division Three all won, three of them in very convincing fashion.

Leaders Barrowford entertained and walloped Haworth by 101 runs

Second placed Oakworth, put last week's defeat behind them and crashed 278-8 at Cullingworth with S Powell leading the way on 90. The homesters were dismissed for 109 in reply.

Third placed Embsay's Marc Robson claimed the first four Skipton CI wickets to fall as they slumped to 81 all out. He finished with 4-22 as Simon Holt and Ian Robson took three wickets each. The Shires Lane side cruised to a nine wicket win with Holt making 36no.

Thornton were the least convincing of the top quartet on their travels to Airedale. The home side batted first and their skipper Trevor Cox, made 42 as his side reached a modest 117. It took a fine knock of 47no by opposing skipper John Roughton to get his side home by four wickets.

Ingrow St John's pulled of a fine win at Morton against Cowling, and in doing so moved themselves five places up the table. Evergreen Vern Rooke made 37 as the visitors totalled 137 with S Hussain taking 4-45. Another veteran, Dave Unwin, crashed 65no as the Saints cantered home by seven wickets.

Jan Haider scored 84no as nine-man Long Lee posted 191-7 at Fence. The home side could only muster 136 in reply with the ageless Mick Gowling scoring 41. Q Hussain took 4-33 and S Razak 4-49.

Division Four leaders, Bradley, were in fine fettle at home to Pendle Forest III. They restricted the visitors to 101-8 and then knocked off the required runs for the loss of a single wicket. Ashley Walmsley 4-25 and Chris Simpson 66no being the main contributors for the winners.

Second placed Glusburn's trip to Chatburn proved to be very fruitful as they came away with a 109-run win. After losing four wickets cheaply the South Craven side recovered to reach 220-7. T. Akbar 56, George Garland 48 and Derek Mosley 42no were the highest scorers. Mercurial Rummy Smith then took 6-45 to have the Ribblesdale side back in the pavilion for 111 with Stuart Mercer top scoring with 40.

Third placed Denholme went down to fourth placed Ingrow in a high scoring game.

A fine knock of 83 by Phil Poole jnr, together with 38 from Paul Armitage helped the home side to 211-9 with T. Khan taking 4-68. In reply S. Khan 77, Ian Ackroyd and Ian Herbert, both with 33, helped the Keighley side to a six-wicket win.

M Williams 38 and 3-28 helped Cononley beat Gargrave by 52 runs, and Foulridge were too strong for Keighley TC, winning by eight wickets.

Long Lee III could only muster 85-9 as D Clark claimed 6-31. Thirteen-year-old Alec Pue scoring 22. In reply Sutton fell 25 runs short thanks to Kelvin Doane 5-35 and Stephen Butterfield 4-24.
