YOUNG divers enjoyed success at the National Age Group Diving Championships held in Southampton.
Fifteen-year-old Matthew Cowan claimed three titles, winning the 1m 3m and high board events in the boys under-16 section. His impressive performance was crowned with his performance on the 3m board when he was just 0.05 of a point off the British age group record. He qualified for the Junior European Championships which are to be held in Edinburgh later this month.
Matthew is also a member of the Junior Olympic World Class Potential programme.
His brother, 10-year-old David Cowan took part in the boys Under-12 event winning the 1m and 5m titles and was second in the 3m event.
Their sister Jenny Cowan, 12, dived in t he Under-14 girls and was second in the 1m synchro event, 7th on the 1m board, 9th on 3m and 6th on the 5m. Jenny and David are also members of the World Class start programme.
Ten-year-old Chloe Hurd was fourth in the 1m, third in the 3m and fifth in the 5m competitions for Under-12 girls. They are all members of Bradford Esprit Diving Clubs.
