Guiseley AFC are pleased to be able to announce that they have signed a new sponsorship deal for the coming season with options for subsequent years.

Libra Demolition Limited of Leeds have agreed to become the club's main sponsor and their logo will be on the shirts of the club's first, reserve, under-19 and under-10 teams.

The new kit, complete with the Libra Demolition Limited logo, was due to be unveiled tonight,Thursday, in the home game against Halifax Town.

After the club's kit supplier, Pendle Sports of Ilkley, worked flat out to produce the kit in time Halifax pulled out of the fixture.

Instead Halifax arranged what they hope will be a lucrative home fixture with Bolton Wanderers. It was the second time in a week that Guiseley's pre-season plans have been upset.

On Tuesday night they travelled to Brodsworth near Doncaster only to be told on arrival 'someone had left a message that the game was off'.

In welcoming the news that a new sponsor had been secured Guiseley Chairman Phil Rogerson said: "Libra Demolition is a Leeds-based company with many local connections. They have generously agreed to sponsor our first, reserve, under-19 and under-10 teams for the coming season with options to continue after that.

"Their Managing Director, Frank Hanson, is a fanatical sports supporter whose company has sponsored a number of games at Leeds United. He and a number of their staff live in the Guiseley area and Libra Demolition Limited have sponsored local junior soccer for a number of years.

"It is especially pleasing that this sponsorship has developed out of Guiseley AFC's expansion into junior soccer and the affiliation of Guiseley Dynamo, as was, as our junior section. We believe that this sponsorship will be the first of many positives to come out of this initiative.

"We are sure that this is the start of a long and mutually beneficial relationship with Libra Demolition Limited which will help Guiseley progress and achieve its long term aims and ambitions."

A number of Guiseley's players took part in filming for "Gifted" - a new drama written and created by Bafta award winning writer Kay Mellor. The Guiseley players were used to re-create the various football matches involved in this production including a 'Premiership game'.

Second Assistant Director Victoria Banks said in a letter to Guiseley Chairman Phil Rogerson: "To accurately portray the high level of skill needed for these types of matches we would like to involve your footballers."

Filming took place last week at Bradford City's Valley Parade ground. It was a return to their old stamping ground for Guiseley's former Bradford City players James Nettleton and Stewart Airdrie.

Guiseley entertain Huddersfield Town on Wednesday 7.30 pm.
