The Mayor of Keighley was on the right track when she visited railway attraction Ingrow Loco.

Councillor Nancy Holdsworth visited the Railway Interpretation Centre, which is a new attraction in Keighley and was opened to the public on May 17. She said: "Keighley is very rich in its railway heritage and these attractions are extremely important to the tourist economy of the town.

"We should all do our best to support them by making regular visits and encouraging our friends and neighbours to do likewise."

The Ingrow centre houses the Bahamas -- a Jubilee Class express passenger steam locomotive.

The Bahamas Locomotive Society, which was founded over 30 years ago to restore and operate the locomotive, relocated to Ingrow ten years ago.

For the last ten years, the society has been painstakingly restoring the Victorian building as a workshop and the Railway Interpretation Centre.

Councillor Holdsworth visited Ingrow Loco and also enjoyed a visit to the multiple award-winning Museum of Rail Travel, which is also housed on the Ingrow site.

This well-established museum houses the railway carriages seen in most period TV and film dramas.

All these visitor attractions are members of the Bront Country Partnership and are widely regarded as jewels in Keighley's tourist crown.
