LE Tour de Ingleton filled the village with cyclists on gala day.

The fancy dress procession took on a Tour de France theme with colourful bikes and riders galore, while BMX stunt rider Jez Avery entertained the crowds on the gala field.

Even Saddam Hussein could be spotted in the village (complete with his weapons of mass destruction), together with an array of colourful characters in the fancy dress parade. The judges were Desmond and Irene Redhead, Raymond and Linda Angus, David and Grace Metcalfe and Graham and Doreen Spiers.

Kirkby Lonsdale Brass Band led the procession, which included floats representing a Teddy Bear's Picnic, run by the playgroup, Guy Fawkes, from the Community Bonfire and Fireworks group and a trailer carrying the cast of a comedy TV series set in Ingleton called Last of the Summer Winos.

Gala queen Amy Fretwell reigned over proceedings accompanied by her attendants, Mary Mitton, Maddy Taylor, Bonnie Rowe, Abigail Hartnell, Ruby Sherrington, Lydia Taylor and page boy Andres Part.

Stunt cyclist Jez Avery performed over and around volunteers as they lay on the ground. Building up to ten volunteers between two ramps he flew over the top of them before negotiating two standing adults and two cars.
