THE villages of Kettlewell and Starbotton and their links to the Calendar Girls film have been preserved for posterity through the installation of new road signs.
Film makers Harbour Pictures donated £3,000 to the villages as a thanks for the co-operation and help given during filming there.
The parish council invited villagers to come up with ideas of how to spend the money and the winning suggestion was to fund new road signs leading into Kettlewell from the south and into Starbotton from the north.
Children at the local school were asked to put their creativity to the test and design the new signs.
The winner was 10-year-old Robyn Senior - who is pictured here with Jack Heseltine, Richard Appleton and David Wright.
She designed a coat of arms which has been immortalised onto the two signs and incorporates Kettlewell Church, the school, the power station and a bridge near Starbotton.
The parish council has also adopted the design for use on its stationery.
Money left over is to go towards a new parish council noticeboard and the remainder will be shared among local groups.
