A 19-year-old man was punched by a man who demanded money.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the assault at Prospect Road, Burley-in-Wharfedale, at 4pm on Wednesday.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said a small red car containing four or five people stopped in front of the victim.
One man got out and asked the victim for money. When he said he had none, the suspect punched him in the face. The suspect was white, aged 19 or 20, 5ft 10ins tall and stocky. He was clean shaven with a local accent and short dirty-blond hair. The car driver was a similar age with short dark hair and one of the rear passengers was a woman with dark hair in a ponytail. The victim suffered cuts to his face.
