The Bees have wasted no time in thrusting Tevita Vaikona into the spotlight.

Their new signing from the Bulls has been named for his debut at inside centre for the North Division One derby against Morley at Wagon Lane.

Bees coach Andy Bemrose said after Vaikona's first training session this week: "It is very exciting. We know he is a quality player and he is certainly going to be an asset. Hopefully he will bring a few more through the gate, and it would be nice if some Bulls fans came down to watch him and the team."

Vaikona replaces Steve McManus, and Rob Woodhead comes into the second row for Richard Hughes against a team the Bees have traditionally struggled against.

Cleckheaton, who are third in North One, have centre John Bentley and second row John Dudley back for the trip to Sheffield.

Alan Bentley, the new chairman of Cleckheaton Sports Club, said: "John is trying to get a settled side now as we have used 31 players this season. And the main area of concern is the back row, where we have yet to get the balance right."

Otley, who are having a fine season in National League One, are trying to succeed where Wharfedale failed last week in the Powergen Cup, and defeat visitors and sectional top dogs Pertemps Bees.

Wharfedale resume the defence of their 100 per cent National League Two record at home to Esher, who beat them twice last season. But since then there has been a critical change in personnel, former England international David Pears switching sides to the Greens.

Keighley, finding their feet in Yorkshire One, have Adam Balderstone at scrum half at Old Brodleians, and Bradford Salem's only doubt at home to Sheffield Tigers in Yorkshire Two is whether to include Neil Klenk on the bench.
