City must show no fear if they hope to topple leaders West Brom tonight.

Bryan Robson faces the toughest test of his brief reign so far against his former club at the Bradford & Bingley Stadium.

But goalkeeper Alan Combe believes City are capable of turning the tables and pulling off a shock result - providing they believe in themselves.

Combe said: "It doesn't matter who you are playing in the situation we're in, you've got to go out there and win games.

"We're up against the best team in the division but we have to match them and show what we can do.

"Apart from the Sunderland game here, we haven't played too badly against the sides at the top of

the league. We're at home so let's go out with no fear and really perform."

City need to bounce straight back after Saturday's slip-up at Walsall, where they went down 1-0 despite dominating for long periods.

"We've got to look at Walsall as being just a little setback," added Combe. "We were so confident after last week but sometimes things like that can happen. We're very disappointed but it's not the end of the world.

"The goal was a sucker punch because I thought we contained them well. Considering we were away from home, I thought we dominated.

"But there were positives and I thought we defended fairly well. We were getting back to being a unit again and limiting their chances.

"We kept the ball a lot better and moved it about and created a lot of chances. Hopefully we can do that again tonight and maybe go a notch further."

City's breathless win over Millwall ten days ago was their first at home since September 13. If they can repeat that success, it will be the first back-to-back home wins since they beat Nottingham Forest and then Stoke last December.

Combe believes the anxiety of playing at home has been blown away - and expects noisy backing from the stands as City bid to upset the odds.

He said: "I'm sure the last result against Millwall will get the home fans lifted. The second 45 minutes we produced in front of them were good and the supporters really responded.

"Hopefully we can do that from the start tonight.

"We cannot afford to let the gap in front of us open up any more but there is no point in panicking. We've just got to concentrate on ourselves and our results.

"If we start winning then the points will quickly add up and we can start climbing the league away from trouble."
